The monument is composed of a statue depicting a soldier, at ease, with his weapon by his side, equipped for combat. The statue is placed on a truncated pyramid pedestal, gradually stretched out in steps, in the lower area. In the upper area the pedestal displays a laurel branch decorative streak, interrupted (probably) by the royal insignia. The monument gives the impression as if it was sculpted from a mountain cliff, which is suggested on East side, as background for the monument. The whole ensemble is surrounded by a wrought iron panel fence placed between reinforced concrete pylons. In front of the monument, at the limit of Bucharest – Ploiești Road there is a parapet plated with various sized stones, rising, in steps, to the center of the wall.
6.4.1. Architectural Plan:
The monument is placed at the crossroad of DN1 and Bisericii Street, on a strip of green grass field. The monument is facing Westwards.
6.4.2. Facades:
The West side - is parallel to the Bucharest - Ploieşti Road (DN1).
In front of pyramid trunk lies written:
"THE BRAVES
OF
TÂNCĂBEŞTI COMMUNE
FALLEN ON THE FIELD OF
HONOR IN THE WAR
FOR THE NATION’S
UNION
1916-1919"
Followed by the names of heroes.
In the lower area of the pedestal lies written:
"GLORY TO OUR HEROES
FALLEN ON THE ALTAR OF DUTY
FOR
COUNTRY AND NATION"
Analyzing historical images of the monument we can suppose that the original text ended with: FOR COUNTRY AND KING.
On the south corner of the second step of the pedestal, there’s the signature of the sculptor D. Măţăuanu and the year 1925.
The North side - on this side of the pyramid trunk, soldiers’ names are engraved.
The East side - on the entire monument’s height, by the way the stone is carved, a mountain cliff is suggested.
The South side - on this side of the pyramid trunk, soldiers’ names are engraved.
