6.2. Description
The white marble obelisk was recently placed on a boulder platform inside the “Saint Nicholas” church courtyard (2013/2014). Its pedestal is a high rectangular prism crowned on three sides, on the main façade and on the two sides, with a profile. Over the pedestal a high marble block rises, sculpted in relief, on the main façade, there’s a melancholic woman holding a rose and the inscription “In memory of the 1916-1919 war heroes”. Still on the main façade, on the obelisk’s upper area, a sarcophagus is suggested and on its main axis there’s a medallion displaying military insignia, and in the corners acroterions are placed. Towering above, there’s a cross.
