6.2. Description
The monument sits on top of a square shaped base, with two steps, made of colored marble plated concrete. Following the central axis of the main façade and on the side facades, there are inclined platforms, between the first and the second step, where flower wreaths are placed. The monument contains two superimposed pyramid trunks, of different sizes, made of black marble plated concrete, except for the upper row where light colored marble was used. On top of this construction, there’s a bronze eagle holding a cross in its beak.Inscriptions are to be found on white marble plaques inserted in niches displaying a rounded upper edge, on all four of the lower pyramid trunk facades.
On the upper pyramid trunk, on the main façade facing the street, southwards, insignia of the army can be seen: the helmet, two crossed swords and laurel branches. On the lower pyramid trunk, on the niched plaque, stands written: "The nation’s heroes of Căciulaţi village, Moara Vlăsiei commune, who fell in the War, defending their country".
On the Eastern side it’s written:
"The monument was built in God’s grace by Moara Vlăsiei Local Council in 2004
Sculptor Nicolae Popa"
On the West side stands written:
"1916-1918 and the names of the heroes who fell in battle"
On the North side stands written:
"1941-1945 and the names of the heroes who fell in battle"
Two artillery pieces frame the monument on a plateau paved with prefabricated slabs and surrounded by a steel pipe fence topped with fleur-de-lis.
