6.2. Description
Within the “Assumption of Mary” church yard, a church constructed by the ruler Alexandru Ghica, there’s funerary monument to the First World War heroes. The monument is made of a painted concrete base, over which a truncated pyramid pedestal out of three painted stone block rows rises, on top of it sitting an impression of a tree trunk supporting a cross. On the monument’s main façade, on the tree trunk, there’s a laurel branch. On the main façade, there are two marble plaques: - On the monument’s base a plaque inscribed: “Brave heroes, from the Căciulați Ilfov commune, who died on the battlefield during the 1916-1918 campaign” Facing the monument there’s a grave, guarded by a forged iron fence, reinforced with a painted concrete upstand.
