6. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
6.2. Description
The monument is composed out of a square based prism, seated on a two steps pedestal. The first third of its height is the monument’s base. The monument is slightly drawn back on the base and it has a profile on three of its sides (the left and right sides, and the rear side), forming large niches, with flat arches in the upper area, a sword is carved in the middle, pointing downward. On the monument’s main façade the same niche can be found, but shooting out of the front and the upper area arch is profiled brow-like cornice. In the niche’s middle area, First World War and Second World War heroes’ names are listed introduced by the following text: “Undying gratitude to the Second World War Heroes”. Above this area stands a cube, as the base for an outstretched wings bronze eagle, holding the royal cross in its beak, crowning the monument. Sitting on the two steps pedestal, there’s another smaller square section prism, intersecting the main prism on the main façade and on one if its sides. The smaller prism displays a profiled cornice in the upper area, and on each of the two sides, there are profiled niches. On the main façade niche, the names of heroes are written. The monument is plated with white streaked marble. The monument is placed in a green space, protected with small chained pillars. In the fenced area, there are two flag posts holding the Romanian flag and European Union flag.
